This blog is under construction.  My hope is to create a blog dedicated to the study of effective lesson plan design based on sound brain based research and effective instructional practice. My belief  is that the Madeline Hunter lesson plan design format that was developed in the early 80s needs to be completely revamped to reflect the incredible breakthroughs from the last few years.  As educators, we must look at “re-thinking” how we plan and craft lessons in order to  ensure 100% learner participation and learning outcomes.   The 21st century is here must prepare our children for a world that does not yet exist.  While we do not have a crystal ball, we can prepare our students to think, act and reflect in order to ensure a future filled with promise and hope.  This generation of educators’ legacy can be one characterized as the “Age of Inquiry”.

I have developed a lesson plan format that includes elements of effective student engagement and brain based practices.  I firmly believe that the best lesson design will come from everyday practitioners who work with students.    Educators hold the answer and our time has come.
